Release Week

May 9th 2023

It’s been a rollercoaster week of book signings, the release party, and podcasts. Thank you to everyone who pre-ordered Letting Glow and got it to number 1 for release day on Amazon’s Hot New Release Charts, and number 5 on the Best Sellers List! While these milestones didn’t even cross my mind while I wrote Letting Glow, or even after signing a book deal, they are a good indicator of how many people will take this journey with me to connect with our intuition and grow as modern mystics. It’s all a little overwhelming to be honest, and I find myself in a temporary state of limbo and taking a moment to just breathe. Next week marks a new influx of interviews, and a couple of live events are edging ever closer, ensuring my anxiety will be peaking once again in no time at all! I’m not a public speaker, yet I’ve got a trial by fire at the Kent Wellness Festival in the UK on June 10th.

Talking on radio shows and podcasts has been another learning curve, and I can only cringe at the few minutes of playbacks I’ve allowed myself to listen to. I never realised that I punctuate almost every sentence with “y’know” or “right” multiple times. The medium and author Claire Broad told me to never listen to them after they’re done, and I think I’m going to take her up on that advice. I’ll also make a conscious effort to refine my use of the English language for the listeners sake. Some interviews have gone well, others not so much. Moments of brain fog on a 4am call to the States due to time zone differences have ensured that I sometimes sound like a complete buffoon, or forget which Clair senses are which, or even what a Chakra is. I hope anyone who takes the time to listen to these interviews can forgive my initial nervous excitement. Hopefully in time I’ll refine the art of conversation. I didn’t write Letting Glow to be tested on it’s subjects, but obviously I need to work on verbally relating it’s content.

So what’s next? I’m currently hard at work on an accompanying course to Letting Glow, which will bridge the gap between Books One and Two. The material transpired from a couple of early reviews which pointed out that aside from the meditations, there wasn’t much help to direct the reader towards becoming a medium. Now, making readers into mediums was never my intention. There are teachers far more qualified than myself who are better equipped for that job. But I do feel there is space for us to improve on this journey, and so the idea of an accompanying e-book has arose. As I always point out, I’m still very much at the beginning of my journey into mediumship. If you want to join me for the ride, then by all means do. I’m not professing to know more than I have already written. That being said, a couple of people who I consider my peers and teachers, have recently come into my life (both this past week) who reminded me of two things:

  1. Writing a book about my experiences and guiding others towards modern mysticism is already a wildly advanced accomplishment.

  2. The information I’ve relayed isn’t necessarily limited to my own experience. Others will take the journey I’ve written about and align it with their own, creating a greater truth and advancing the call to activate spiritual awareness among others.

Both of those statements would feel very self indulgent, had it been me who made them, but both came from mediums who have been practicing for 50 years combined. And they did get me thinking. I am very much at the start of my journey after only two years of actively pursuing this path. I’m not even close to feeling qualified to work as a practicing medium, nor am I sure that I even want to become a practicing medium. But who is better qualified to talk about what has worked for me than me? If my journey is conducive to others’, then maybe it’s time to stop apologising for my lack of experience and concentrate on what’s working. Perhaps it will work for you too. And so we come to the course that I am developing. It’s almost ready and as I stated before, it will bridge the gap between books One and Two. It will take the soft introduction to spirituality that are the lessons in Letting Glow, and advance on them in preparation for Glowing Deeper. And I can assure you, we go way further in Glowing Deeper!

The only things to really finish up with the course are making sure that I haven’t infringed on anything layed out in my publishing contracts surrounding the books, and to set up an easy click and download button on this website, which I have absolutely no idea how to do and am reliant on other peoples schedule.

So I look forward to releasing this content and I’m keen to get you involved. As always, I welcome your feedback and I’m easily reachable through my social media handles.

Thanks once more to you for purchasing Letting Glow ahead of the release day, and helping it hit it’s first run of milestones. This week has been a life changing one, and it’s all thanks to your support. Please leave a review on Amazon or wherever you purchased it if you feel it has been a useful read, and keep an eye on this blog for updates about podcast and radio interviews as they come up over the next few months.

Welcome

March, 2023

Welcome to my new site! At the time of writing, we’re about six weeks away from the release of Letting Glow, so you’ll definitely be reading this awhile after I’ve posted it. I was just looking over the development of the site, and at what a stellar job Kyle Newton has made of it (you’ll be hearing more about him from me in the future), and thought I’d have a go at scribbling down a blog post. Then it just hit me, right after typing the first couple of words: today is another anniversary, and if you’ve read Letting Glow you’ll know that this is how things seem to work… Today it’s two years since I stood in front of friends and family in a small chapel on the Isle of Wight, and celebrated my mums transition from this world to the next. As I glance at the time on my laptop now, needless to say, it’s two years to the hour, if memory serves me right.

I don’t know why it works like this. Always these dates around the events that changed my life and bought us all to the book Letting Glow, and now it would seem to the website too.

This isn’t a day I’ve been keen to remember so far, but here it is and here it shall be every year that I’m breathing. But, today in particular is a reminder that the books, and now this blog, appear destined to reach you with these subtle nudges of why they were written in the first place.

So back to the site, and what you can expect from it. First off, I’ll be updating this blog whenever I see fit. It might be daily, weekly, or monthly, but I’ll keep you posted on events, talks, signings, workshops, occasional musings and meditations, and of course further developments with the Letting Glow Trilogy. You may have spotted on the Home page that Book Two is on its way.

I’m also keen to hear your thoughts on Letting Glow. I’m currently suffering a state of continuous mild anxiety as the official release day approaches. When I wrote it, I was in a deep pocket of grief and poured all of my feelings into it. I wasn’t really sure what I was going to do with it. I was toying with the idea of keeping it to myself, but I sent if off to around ten publishers wondering if anyone would be interested at all. I expected to have to send it to hundreds. The first one to respond was a Chicago based publisher who told me that it was a rambling mess which perhaps had potential if I was willing to work on it. I thought it was a fair assessment and asked what I could do to make it better.

Then the others replied.

Within days I was offered four traditional publishing contracts who all seemed super keen and excited about the book, and more came over the following weeks. I went with O-Books, they offered a very transparent publishing process where I could already see the internal exchanges between editors and reviewers, and everyone who read it appeared to have been touched by it, one of them even claimed it had bought him to tears. I certainly wasn’t prepared for that kind of response. The whole publishing process would be available to me in real time, from cover designs, to how many books are printed and which bookstores would stock them. I loved the openness and being included in the publishing progress, and went with them. They’ll also be printing Book Two.

On the Events page you’ll be able to see where I’m going to be as the years unfold. I’ll post updates about t.v, podcast and radio appearances, as well as live events and magazine articles I’ve written. Letting Glow will be featured in the May 2023 edition of ‘Psychic News’ magazine, as well as on mysticliving.com, and kindovermatter.com will be running an article and hosting a book giveaway competition for Letting Glow. As of writing, I’m scheduled to appear at the ‘Big Purple Psychic and Holistic Fair’ on June 4th, in Chessington, in the U.K. I’ll be giving a talk on spiritual awakenings, and I’ll have a small corner where I’ll be signing copies of Letting Glow and will have plenty of time to chat. The following weekend I’ll be at the ‘Kent Wellness Festival’, where I’ll be giving another talk. There’ll be over 65 hours of practical classes from experts in the industry, including world famous hypnotist Paul McKenna. And then I’m very much looking forward to ‘The Healing Weekend Holistic Festival’ from July 14th to 16th, tucked away in a field in Somerset. I’ll be there all weekend, camping overnight and giving a talk on Saturday the 15th about connecting with the present moment. Tickets for all events can be purchased through the links on the Events page. I’ve no doubt that more events will be added as the year moves on.

Last but not least, I’ll be updating the Shop page to include online courses, workshops, one to one Zoom calls, and I’m also working on a members club where we can get together online and talk once a month (or maybe more frequently, I’m still figuring it out) about all things spiritual with like minded people and special guests. I’m thinking of calling it the ‘GlowCircle’, what do you reckon? It’ll be a way to stay on track and hold one another accountable as we grow as intuitives. You can of course also order a copy of Letting Glow from the Shop page, and be sure to let me know if you want a personalised note as I’ll be shipping them myself from my local post office!

Alright, thank you for stopping by! Leave a comment below or get in touch with me on social media. I’m most active on Instagram, and also be sure to check out my YouTube channel @lettingglowthebook. I look forward to speaking with you very soon, and perhaps even meeting some of you out on the road!
